14th RUNNING OF FIRECRACKER 30 FOR 358-360 SPRINT CARS PLUS MOON SHINE CAMO ROUTE 35 LATE MODEL CHALLENGE, PRO STOCKS, ROADRUNNERS & FIREWORKS!

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Selinsgrove Speedway will return to racing action at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday, June 25, with the 14th running of the Firecracker 30 for 358-360 sprint cars plus the rescheduled Moon Shine Camo Route 35 Challenge Series for super late models, pro stocks, roadrunners, and fireworks! Track gates will open at 5:30 p.m.

Saturday’s Firecracker 30-lap main event for the 358-360 sprint cars will pay $2,500 to win and $275 to start. Drivers will draw for starting positions for the heat races. The race will also be a Newville Family of Companies Night offering bonuses of $200, $125 and $100 to the top three finishing 358 sprint car drivers in the main event.

Last year’s Firecracker 30 was rained out. Past winners of the Firecracker race as a 40-lap contest include the late Jim Nace of Thompsontown (2002), Bob Beidleman of Walnutport (2003), Dave Calaman of Carlisle (2004), Nate Snyder of Halifax (2005), and Blane Heimbach of Selinsgrove (2006).

In 2007, the race was abbreviated to 30 laps and was won by Calaman. Scott Flammer of West Milford, N.J.; (2008) Pat Cannon of Etters (2009); Snyder (2010); Logan Schuchart of Hanover (2011); Heimbach (2012); Jason Shultz of Carlisle (2013); and Davie Franek of Wantage, N.J., (2014) also took checkered flags in the race as a 30-lap event.

The super late models will compete in a 25-lap main event paying $2,000 to win and $200 to start the rescheduled Moon Shine Camo Route 35 Challenge Series race. Company reps will have the Moon Shine Camo merchandise trailer set up at the main gate Saturday.

Hayes Mattern of Beavertown, who drives the Moon Shine Camo sponsored No. 9 late model, opened the inaugural six-race challenge series between Port Royal and Selinsgrove Speedways with a win at Port Royal in April.

The pro stocks will compete in a 15-lap feature and the roadrunners will close out the racing card with a 12-lap main event.

Weather permitting, the second professional fireworks presentation of the season will take place at intermission.

Track management announced a schedule change for Sunday, July 3. The pro stocks will replace the super sportsman on the racing card with the PA Speedweek Finale for 410 sprint cars and 305 sprint cars. The 15-lap pro stock feature will be a non points race paying $500 to win. The rain date, if needed, will be Monday, July 4.

Selinsgrove Raceway Park gets back to Friday night go kart competition June 24 at 7 p.m. Track gates will open at 5:30 p.m.
