Mother Nature picked up another pair of wins this weekend leaving the Central PA 358 Point Series with just 1 points race. Lincoln Speedway hosted the 358 sprinters and 358 Rookie of the Year contender Chase Dietz would pick up his 1st career 358 feature win. With the win Dietz has moved into a tie for the Rookie of the Year with Robbie Kendell but with his win is now the leader of the year long chase to see who will be crowned the Rookie of the Year in the series. Jeff Rorbaugh was able to come home a strong 2nd but was only able to trim 5 points of Series point leader Austin Hogue's big point lead as Houge would come home in 3rd. Tim Wagaman and Niki Young would round out the top 5.
Defending champion charges to third victory of 2013 by winning Mediacom Shootout
KNOXVILLE, Iowa - May 11, 2013 - If it wasn't obvious before, Donny Schatz made it clear on Saturday night: The path to winning at Knoxville Raceway goes through him. Schatz charged from seventh to victory in the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series Mediacom Shootout at the famous half-mile, where he has won five of the past six Knoxville Nationals crowns in addition to winning six additional series races there since 2006.
In a field of 51 cars, it was Brian Brown, Craig Dollansky and Tim Kaeding who tried to prevent Schatz from returning to Knoxville's victory lane, a place Schatz practically calls home. Brown earned his second pole of the season and jumped out to a quick lead before Dollansky was able to slide into the top spot on lap 9. Meanwhile, Schatz reeled in Kaeding, then Brown and set his sights on Dollansky.
On lap 18, Schatz stalked Dollansky through lapped traffic in his STP/Armor All J&J, finally making his move on the exit of turn two as they headed down the backstretch.
RINE BECOMES FIRST LATE MODEL REPEAT WINNER; SHAUN MILLER TAKES CHECKERS IN PRO STOCKS
SELINSGROVE, Pa. - When race leader Pat Cannon of Etters dropped out of the 30-lap sprint car feature on a lap 28 restart with engine woes, JJ Grasso of Pedricktown, N.J., inherited the lead and drove to his first win of the season in the 33rd annual Jack Gunn Memorial Saturday night at Selinsgrove Speedway.
For the eighth year in a row, the Gunn Memorial was a challenge race between the United Racing Company (URC) 360 sprint cars and the central Pennsylvania 358 sprint cars. The $3,500 victory was Grasso's first career at the track driving the Viper Venom/Eldreth Construction No. 25 360 sprint car. In qualifying, Grasso set fast time over the 40-car field with a lap of 17.329. He was the sixth different winner in as many races in 358-360 sprint car competition at the track.

Wilson And Krape Take Stock Cars
Port Royal - Blane Heimbach of Selinsgrove turned in an exciting come from behind performance to score a convincing win in Saturday night's 25-lap 410 sprint car feature at Port Royal Speedway, worth $3,000. In the 20-lap pro stock championship event, Tim Krape of Bellefonte picked up the checkers for his 80th career victory at the oval. And Tim Wilson powered to his first win of the season in the late model main, wiring the field from the pole for the $1,500 victory.
Many may have thought the sprint car feature was a write off when the lineup was announced with two-time 2013 winner Doug Esh on the pole alongside Mike Erdley. But Heimbach proved them all wrong. While Esh drove out to the early lead with Erdley keeping pace, Heimbach bided his time from the third starting spot. In fact, he allowed fourth starter Davey Sammons to run into third for the first eight laps before taking the spot back. Racing through traffic, Erdley was still keeping pace with Esh on the ninth tour when a caution flag regrouped the field.

Chase Dietz makes daring pass to claim first career "358" sprint car win; Walls wins third of the year in thundercars
ABBOTTSTOWN, PA , 5/11/13 ? Brent Marks was the class of the field in claiming the $4,000 top prize in Saturday's Prospect Metal and Used Auto Parts Night World of Outlaw tune-up at Lincoln Speedway Saturday night. It was Marks' third win of the year in the Pigeon Hills, and ended a perfect night for the BAPS Auto Paints and Supply/Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel/KC Automotive/Creekside Auto Sales #19M after winning his qualifying event for the eighth week in a row.
The World of Outlaw format placed Marks on the outside of the front row for the start, and he led every lap, despite late-race pressure from eighth-starting Brian Montieth over the closing laps. "For all the rain we've had, Fred (Putney) did an awesome job on this track," said Marks in victory lane, "That race was awesome. Kudos to Lincoln for running tonight."

SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE SELINSGROVE SPEEDWAY
JJ Grasso of Middletown, DE scored an impressive win Saturday night at the Selinsgrove Speedway, winning the 8th Annual URC/358 Jack Gunn Memorial. The thirty lap feature win earned Grasso $3,600 in a thriller that saw Grasso chase down race leader Pat Cannon in the final five laps. A late race caution brought the field nose to tail for the final three laps. Grasso was closing on Cannon prior to the yellow, but when the green flag fell, Cannon developed motor problems, handing the lead over to Grasso. It was certainly no gift as Grasso was the fastest car on the track in the second half of the race. On the final lap, Grasso lost his brakes and on the cool down lap, developed a right rear flat tire on the Kenny Eldreth owned sprinter. For Grasso, it was his first career win at the Selinsgrove Speedway.
After much anticipation and preparation, Elko Speedway just south of Minneapolis was ready to shine in the spotlight on Friday as an abundant amount of dirt transformed the pavement surface. Marking the inaugural STP World of Outlaws event at the facility, Craig Dollansky and the #7 team were eager to hit the track carrying the Aggressive Hydraulics paint scheme.
A beautiful day with a plethora of sunshine saw 34 drivers sign in for competition at the 3/8-mile. Following hotlaps when drivers got a feel for the track, a surface that dried out as qualifying progressed meant an early draw was critical as the Eyecon Trail Cameras Maxim went out eleventh and posted the 12th fastest time.

Californian charges from 13th to earn fourth World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series win
ELKO, Minn. - May 10, 2013 - Tim Kaeding was in the right place at the right time to win the rain-shortened FVP Outlaws at Elko on Friday night in the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series inaugural event at Elko Speedway. A packed house saw Kaeding charge through the field from 13th to finally take the lead on lap 34, just as a red flag came out for a flipped car in turn two. Immediately after the wreck, the skies opened and a downpour forced series and track officials to call the race, handing Kaeding his fourth victory of the season.
URC IN ACTION AT SELINSGROVE SATURDAY NIGHT, MAY 11
A thunderstorm rolled into Bedford, PA just prior to the URC drivers meeting Friday night at the Bedford Speedway. The rain continued and forced the cancellation of the second of the 2013 Rislone URC Sprint Series. The URC sprints will be inaction Saturday night, May 11, competing in the Jack Gunn Memorial at the Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, PA. This prestigious event, dedicated to the late Jack Gunn will pay $3,500 to the winner of the feature event. Race time is 7 PM at Selinsgrove.
Hanover, PA (05/10/13) ? Several dozen race teams had checked into the pits on Friday night at Trail-Way Speedway and several kept their cars in their trailers as the sky darkened.
At 6:31 p.m., rain began to dot the 1/3-mile oval and a few teams pulled their trailers out of the pits.. Six minutes later, a downpour followed and, one minute after that, track officials
canceled the program of 358 sprints, 270cc micro sprints, limited stocks and street stocks.
Williams Grove Speedway cancelled Friday's two-division card of sprint car racing thanks to a mid-afternoon shower and the expectations for heavier, more steady rain to set in over the area during the evening.
The oval will return to action May 17 and 18 with the World of Outlaws sprint cars on the card both nights.
